WILLIAM (BILL) JUDGE serves as the first E.V. Williams Chair of Strategic Leadership within the Strome College of Business at Old Dominion University. Dr. Judge's teaching, research, and consulting expertise is in the area of strategic leadership, organizational change and innovation, and corporate governance. He has been coordinating the Strategic Management Doctoral Program within the college since 2006.
He has published many scholarly articles in such journals as Academy of Management Journal, Strategic Management Journal, Journal of Management, Journal of International Business Studies, California Management Review, Journal of World Business, and Corporate Governance: An International Review. In addition, he published a different book in each of his three areas of expertise and has earned six different teaching distinctions and awards. He is the co-author of the best-selling Change Management Simulation at Harvard Business Publishing.
Bill served as a trustee within a large non-profit health system in the 1990s and is serving on editorial boards of three prominent management journals. He was Editor-in-Chief of Corporate Governance: An International Review from 2007 to 2012. Also, he led the Senior Executive MBA program at the University of Tennessee to its first international ranking within the Financial Times, and was a U.S. Fulbright scholar at MGIMO University in Moscow, Russia in 2001. In 2013, he served as a distinguished visiting scholar at the IE Business School in Madrid, Spain.
Bill earned his Ph.D. and M.B.A. degrees at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, and he earned his B.S. in Industrial Engineering at Lehigh University. Bill is married to Sharon Judge, who is a Professor of Special Education in the Darden College of Education also at Old Dominion University. Together, they are raising two children, Colin and Anastasia in Virginia Beach.
