The Office of Student Financial Aid Handbook

General Information

The Office of Student Financial Aid supports the mission of the University by assisting students and their families in reducing or eliminating financial barriers which might prohibit their participation in the degree programs offered by Old Dominion University. The office administers need-based financial aid programs funded by Federal, State, University, and private sources in the form of grants, Federal Direct Stafford/Ford Subsidized Loans, federal work-study programs, and both need-based as well as merit-based scholarships. In addition, the office administers the Federal Direct Unsubsidized Loan program and the Federal Direct PLUS loan program, both of which are non-need-based federally-supported sources of funding.

Regulations governing the administration of student financial aid are subject to unanticipated change. Information provided herein is as accurate as possible on the date of printing. For additional and updated information, students and interested parties are invited to visit the office's web site or download copy of Old Dominion University Financial Aid Handbook.
