MISSION

The Theatre Arts Program follows a five part mission, designed to compliment the larger mission of the University, while emphasizing the unique qualities that our form offers within society:

1) to prepare students as effective leaders in society through a
solid liberal arts education

2) to prepare a new generation of theatre artists for an
increasingly competitive marketplace

3) to educate tomorrow’s arts advocates
about the importance of a society’s cultural expressions

4) to preserve and expand
the tradition of theatre through creative research

5) to enrich the cultural and
educational life of the Hampton Roads community.
