Inclement Weather Plan
Decision Timeframe and Announcement
In the event that inclement weather, which would hinder the academic processional, is imminent for the day of commencement, an announcement will be made to follow the inclement weather plan.
The announcement will be made no later than noon on the Friday before commencement. It will be posted on the main page of this website and the ODU home page, and will be available on the information line at 683.3000.
Important Changes
If an announcement is made to follow the inclement weather plan, the following changes will be in effect:
- Students must report to the bottom level of the 43rd Street Parking Garage for registration and robing, not Webb University Center.
- Faculty, readers, and platform party will assemble in the southeast hallway of the Ted Constant Convocation Center (by the entrance facing Monarch Way).
- The academic processional will begin in the parking garage and march across 43rd Street, through the multipurpose room in the Constant Center and into the arena.
- Students should park in the 43rd Street Parking Garage, not the Elkhorn Parking Garage.
