Statement: Old Dominion University has, by action of the Board of Visitors, when appropriate, and by the president in all other cases, adopted policy which prohibits certain kinds of discriminatory behavior. The publication of university documents oftentimes inadvertently fails to incorporate amendments to existing policy. Therefore, in order to clarify existing university policy regarding non-discrimination, the following policy is reaffirmed.

           It is the policy of Old Dominion University to provide equal employment, educational and social opportunities for all persons without regard to race, color, religion, national origin, gender, age, veteran status, disability, political affiliation or sexual orientation. Moreover, to the extent permitted by law, the university prohibits discrimination based upon the foregoing factors.
