Undergraduate Research Apprenticeship Program Site Grants
Deadline for Applications: April 6th, 2012

The Undergraduate Research Program is soliciting faculty to develop Undergraduate Research Apprenticeship Programs (URAP) at the college or department level. Proposed URAP sites should have a well-defined common focus that enables a cohort experience for students. These projects may be based in a single discipline or department, or on interdisciplinary or multidepartment research opportunities. Funding for each proposal is limited to $22,000 per year and may be renewable for up to 3 years. A plan to seekingfuture funding for the site or program's continuance is required. Faculty Research Mentor Support Grant
Application Period Opens: October 15, 2011

The Faculty Research Mentor Support Grant Program is designed to provide funding for individual faculty members to offset the costs of increased undergraduate involvement in his or her ongoing research program. (link to application)

Provost's Award for Outstanding Faculty Research Mentor
Nomination Deadline: March 2, 2012

The Provost's Office asks College Deans to nominate a faculty member for recognition of his or her outstanding achievements in undergraduate research mentoring at ODU. One nominee is sought per college. One winner per year will receive an award of $1,000 and a certificate, both presented at theFaculty Awards Ceremony held at the end of the spring semester. Provost's Award for Outstanding Undergraduate Researcher
Nomination Deadline: March 2, 2012

The Provost's Office asks Faculty Mentors to nominate an undergraduate student for recognition of his or her outstanding achievements in research or academic scholarship. This award honors undergraduate students who have exemplified excellence in research. The selection committee will make awards based on the uniqueness of research/scholarship, longevity of experience, and contributions to the discipline through presentation, exhibition, or publication.The award recipients will receive a $250 cash prize and be recognized at the spring "Student Awards Reception & Dinner."(link to nomination guidelines)
