Leadership and Management Development Certificate Program (LMDC)
Purpose:
The Leadership and Management Development Certificate Program (LMDC) provides Old Dominion University employees the opportunity to learn and share experiences and knowledge with colleagues and experts. The goal of the program is to provide participants with tangible knowledge and resources in the areas of leadership, communication, diversity, management practices and self development. Upon completion of the program, participants should be able to assimilate what they have learned to their work environment.
Audience: Classified Employees
Pre-requistie: Must complete the LMDC tracks in sequence.
Supervisor Essentials Program
Purpose:
There are many State and University policies and procedures associated with supervising classified employees. This series focuses on a myriad of topics "essential" for supervisors to be successful.
Audience: University supervisor of classified employees. This program is for supervisors who have the responsibility of hiring, evaluating, coaching and terminating classified employees.
Pre-requistie: To be a supervisor of classified employees.
Open-Enrollment Courses
Purpose:
Open enrollment courses are designed to allow individuals interested in only one or two specific courses to register for just those courses.
Audience: Varies based on an annual basis.
Pre-requistie: These course offerings are stand alone courses and do not have any pre-requisite other than University employment to enroll.
Certificate in University Financial Management (Office of Finance)
Purpose:
The Office of Finance has designed a multi-section training program that focuses on the business practices needed by budget units. It is a series of classes designed to familiarize the campus community with the different aspects of the Office of Finance.
Audience: ODU Employees
Pre-requistie: N/A
Hands-On Banner Training
Purpose:
The banner training program is provided for Banner users throughout the University community who need to learn the skills necessary to use the administrative computer system.
Audience: ODU Employees
Pre-requistie: N/A
Global Certificate Program
Purpose:
The Office of International Programs and the Department of Human Resources offers workshops on the issues and skills relevant to serving international students and scholars. Through the program, participants can earn a certificate on understanding and serving our global community.
Audience: Employees who are working with our global population.
Pre-requistie: N/A
On-line Training
Purpose:
On-line training modules are available as an alternative to classroom facilitation.
