Top Stories Biology Major LaCheryl Ball Wins Kaufman Prize; Second Annual Broderick-Evon Award Presented
The Kaufman Prize, the highest honor given to a graduating ODU student, was presented to LaCheryl Ball, a biology/pre-veterinary studies graduate, at the annual Student Honors and Awards Dinner on May 9. Also, the Broderick-Evon Award was presented to Eslam M. Abuhmad, a student whose passion for service was cultivated through her experiences as a teenager in Syria. The Old Dominion University Alumni Association presented Outstanding College Scholar awards to six graduating students at the Student Honors and Awards Dinner on Thursday, May 9. This resident of the Oceanography and Physics Building pond (top) will need to find many more fellow reptiles, or "subjects," if his throne is ever to reach the kingly heights of Dr. Seuss' Yertle the Turtle. For now, at least, he has mastered the ability to climb on the shells of others.
