New Antimatter Beam Revved Up by ODU's Weinstein and Colleagues at Jefferson Lab
Researchers at the Jefferson Lab have devised an experiment that utilizes a new kind of antimatter beam to probe the fundamental building blocks of matter. Lawrence Weinstein, University Professor of physics at Old Dominion, leads an international team of scientists that plans to create the most intense high-energy beam of both matter and antimatter the world has ever known. "Vote Mob" in Webb Center Garners Last-Minute Ballots for Big Blue in National Mascot Challenge
Several hundred students descended on Webb Center Thursday to participate in a "vote mob" for Big Blue. The event, similar to a "flash mob," allowed fans to rally around the university mascot, who was in the semifinals of the Capital One National Mascot Challenge. (Full Story)
