ODU to Announce Quality Enhancement Plan at Campus Events on Jan. 21 and 27

Since 2003-04, the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools, the organization that oversees Old Dominion's accreditation, has been asking its member institutions to prepare a Quality Enhancement Plan (QEP), defined as "a carefully designed and focused course of action that addresses a well-defined topic or issue(s) related to enhancing student learning," as part of their 10-year accreditation review. ODU Honors Its SCHEV Award Nominees at Luncheon

Old Dominion honored its nominees for the 2011 Virginia Outstanding Faculty Awards at a luncheon Jan. 18 in Webb Center. Administered by the State Council of Higher Education for Virginia and funded by a grant from the Dominion Foundation, the awards program will announce statewide winners on Jan. 26. (Full Story)

ODU's Mascot of the Year to Thank Voters at Ice Cream and Cake Pep Rally Jan. 25

Monarch fans, especially ODU students, went all out for their mascot from August to December, voting more than 2 million times to help Big Blue win the Capital One Mascot of the Year competition. Now Blue wants to say thanks. (Full Story)

Materiel Management's Felecia Samuel Named Employee of the Month

Felecia Samuel, property control manager in the Office of Materiel Management, was selected as Old Dominion's Employee of the Month for January. Her supervisor, Neil Cutler, said of Samuel, "Felecia is a hard-working, dedicated employee who is driven to provide excellent customer service." (Full Story)
