ODU Announces Selection for Vice President for Student Engagement and Enrollment Services

Ellen Neufeldt, vice president for student affairs at Salisbury University, has been selected as ODU's vice president for student engagement and enrollment services. Her appointment is effective June 25, 2011, pending Board of Visitors approval. (Full Story)

Big Blue Club Is Renamed the Old Dominion Athletic Foundation

Athletic Director Wood Selig, along with members of the coaching staff and former presidents of the Intercollegiate Foundation board, unveiled a new name and new look for the 47-year-old athletic fundraising organization during halftime of the men's basketball game Feb. 26. (Full Story)

Engineer Helps Develop Device to Remotely Measure Severe Weather Air Pressure

An ODU researcher is part of a team contracted by NASA to develop a prototype device to measure sea-level air pressure during hurricanes. It's research that could ultimately lead to improved forecasting of severe ocean weather – where hurricanes will hit the U.S. coast, and how strong they will be. (Full Story)

Women’s basketball coach Wendy Larry reads to children at the Village Bookstore’s annual Cat in the Hat program on Feb. 26. Commemorating the birthday of Dr. Seuss, the event was held in coordination with Read Across America, a national initiative to spread literacy among children. Other guest readers included President John Broderick, football coach Bobby Wilder and Norfolk Mayor Paul Fraim.
