Seed Grants Awarded to Four Research Teams in Climate Change Initiative Four teams of researchers representing 10 different disciplines have been awarded $165,000 in seed grants by the ODU Office of Research for projects that support the university's Climate Change and Sea Level Rise Initiative. Students in Gregory Selby's Engineering 111 class spent time recently getting back to the basics of Rube Goldberg designs. Selby, professor of mechanical and aerospace engineering, wanted his students to experiment with the deliberately over-engineered machines designed to perform very simple tasks. (Full Story)

Young runners set a fast pace at the Monarch Kids Cub Run April 16. Sponsored by Friends of the Centers for Children at ODU, the fundraising event was the highlight of a month of activities at the Child Study and Child Development centers designed to promote healthy eating and living. Open to all ages, the Kids Cub Run featured a 5K run/walk and 1-mile fun run.
