Patricia Duncan and Kyle Nelson, students in Kim Baskette's Technology and Your World class (STEM 110), are taped Tuesday for a promo in WAVY-TV's Wait to Text community awareness campaign. WAVY is handing out blue thumb bands with the message W82TXT to remind people not to text while behind the wheel. Baskette polled her students to see if they would sign a pledge not to text while driving, and when the vast majority said yes, she contacted WAVY. Nineteen of her students were also taped for a group promo. The spots will begin airing next week.
