Federal Panel Including Dobbs Issues Invasive Species Report
A panel of experts including marine microbial ecologist Fred Dobbs has issued a report recommending a program of research to establish just how rigorous the standards should be that protect U.S. waters from potentially invasive species that arrive in the ballast water of oceangoing ships. Employee of the Month Award Goes to Vinecia Bunch-Goodman
The political science and geography department is in good hands when it comes to staff support, based on the latest Employee of the Month awards. Last month's honor went to Deborah Giles and the June award was presented to Vinecia Bunch-Goodman, administrative office specialist. (Full Story)
Zhang Gets New Grant to Study Childhood Hunger in U.S.
Health economist Qi "Harry" Zhang has developed a research specialty analyzing food assistance programs, hunger and obesity. His latest grant, from the University of Kentucky Center for Poverty Research, will allow him to look more closely at food insecurity among children in the U.S. (Full Story)
