WAVY-TV's Andy Fox interviews students Jesse Long, left, and Connor Clarke, who were among the pro- and anti-gun demonstrators, respectively, on Kaufman Mall Tuesday afternoon. The Virginia Citizens Defense League and the ODU College Republicans organized the gun-rights demonstration in response to the university's plan to enact a regulation, which would carry the force of law, to ban any visitor from entering university facilities while armed. After review from the attorney general's office, the proposed regulation will be presented to the Board of Visitors for approval. The gun-control demonstrators were organized by the Virginia Center for Public Safety and the ODU Young Democrats.
