The problem of homeowners walking away from mortgages they can afford to pay is a nationwide problem that threatens to cripple our economic recovery. The Monarchs will host NSU at 1:30 p.m. Saturday in first-round action of the Football Championship Subdivision playoffs. Published by the Office of University Relations, InsideODU is sent to faculty and staff on Monday and Thursday during the fall and spring semesters. It is distributed once a week, on Thursday, during the summer.
Gianina Thompson, a master's student in humanities, was a guest speaker at the Hugh L. Vaughan Scholarship Luncheon on Thursday. A 2011 ODU graduate with a bachelor's degree in communication, she is one of two recipients of the Ralph Harrison Jackson and Clara Jackson Kingsbury Memorial Scholarship Endowment. In her remarks, Thompson spoke of the university's scholarship donors as a fan base cheering students on and helping them realize their dreams. The luncheon, which brings donors and scholarship recipients together, is sponsored by the development office.
