Old Dominion women's basketball senior Tia Lewis has accepted an invitation to attend the ProHoops Free Agent Camp on March 31 in Denver.
The invitation-only camp to give the top college seniors an opportunity to be evaluated by WNBA coaches and other staff members before the April draft.
"Tia is leaving her own legacy here at Old Dominion and is continuing to make a huge impact on a young team in a rebuilding process," coach Karen Barefoot said. "Her competitiveness, focus, dedication, leadership and passion for the game will lead her to fulfill her dreams. I enjoy coaching her and look forward to seeing her finish the season strong while marching to her future goals."
Lewis, the only senior on the squad, leads the Lady Monarchs with 18.3 points and 8.8 rebounds per game. She ranks fourth in the Colonial Athletic Association in scoring, fifth in rebounding, fourth in field goal percentage (51.4) and third in minutes played (35.4). She has tied or set her career-high scoring outputs three times this season, including her current career-best of 30 points in the 68-59 win over Georgia State on Jan. 4.
Lewis joined elite company in the win at Georgia State, becoming the seventh Lady Monarch to record 1,000 career rebounds. She currently has 1,008 rebounds and is tied for sixth with Kelly Lyons. She has also moved all the way up to 16th on the all-time scoring list with 1,451.
