ODU First Lady Kate Broderick, right, greets renowned glass artist Debora Moore during a reception at the President’s House Thursday evening co-hosted by the Chrysler Museum of Art. Moore, who is best known for her hand-blown glass sculptures of orchids, is part of the Chrysler’s Visiting Arts Series this year. At the reception, Broderick talked about a new fine arts partnership between ODU and the museum, which will include the introduction next fall of a university course in glass blowing at the Chrysler’s Glass Studio. The course, Introduction to Glass, filled in just three hours, Broderick noted.
