Veterans Day Observance
Dr. Jack C. Kanter, a member of the Old Dominion class of 1935 and a veteran of World War II, raises the flag on Kaufman Mall, alongside members of ODU’s ROTC units, on Veterans Day. The Nov. 11 program included remarks by Dick Whalen, director of military activities; President Roseann Runte; Rear Adm. Stephen A. Turcotte, commander, Navy Region, Mid-Atlantic; and G. William Whitehurst, Kaufman University Lecturer in Public Affairs and a World War II veteran.

ODU and EVMS to open Center for Bioelectrics
The Center for Bioelectrics – a collaborative research effort between Old Dominion and Eastern Virginia Medical School that may someday unlock a cure for cancer, among other groundbreaking discoveries – officially opens Nov. 24 in the city of Norfolk’s Public Health Building. Full story
