E-recycling project a success
Computer monitors, as well as other pieces of electronic equipment, were piled up in parking lots near the Facilities Management Building when Old Dominion hosted its first E-Waste Recycling Event Oct. 11-13, part of a statewide, four-university effort to collect and safely dispose of old computers and related items. The event was free and open to the public. ODU, which accepted items at three locations on and near campus, collected approximately 200,000 pounds’ worth, according to Savas Comsudis, who coordinated the drive on behalf of the university. The statewide collection reportedly weighed in at an estimated 665,000 pounds. |
