Insurance Holds: The Aetna web site is not yet ready to renew policies so, to assist students with summer and fall registration, we are in the process of moving insurance holds to 1 June. All holds should be moved by Friday, 6 April.
Travel Signature Day PLUS Visa Status Check-Up: Mark your calendar for Wednesday, 18 April from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. F and J student visa holders can get a travel signature AND/OR a visa "check-up! Check out the event flyer for more details.
Prepare for Summer & Fall Registration: Check your holds now...not later, when you're rushing to get in classes! If you have holds, refer to the chart provided by the Registrar for assistance in getting them moved or removed.
Graduating? Read This!: If you are graduating this May or August, be sure to check out our page for graduating students! It includes all kinds of important reminders for you and helps you keep track of things at this busy time.
Summer Employment: Students on F-1 or J-1 visas are allowed to work up to 40 hours per week on campus during the summer semester as long as you meet specific requirements. After you review the linked document, please feel free to let us know if you have questions.
Income Taxes: The tax deadline is almost here, so this will be our final reminder for students to request the tax preparation password. Remember that you could run into visa issues if you don't submit the proper forms; this program assists you with that.
Immigration Attorney @ ODU: Have questions related to obtaining an H-1B or a green card? An immigration attorney will be on campus on Monday, 23 April and will have 15-minute time slots throughout the day to meet with you. Please send us an e-mail with times you are available (between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m.) and we will reply with your appointment. Information to include in the e-mail: phone number and current visa status.
Important Dates: ISSS has a list of important dates just for international students on our site. We'll keep it updated to be an additional resource for you.
Staffing and Room Changes in ISSS: As some of you may already know, Daniel Neal (who sat at our front desk in 2007) is no longer working in ISSS. We plan to have that position staffed within the month. If you have any questions about insurance claims, finding a doctor, etc., please know that an advisor will be happy to assist you. Also, please note that our front office has now shifted from 2007 to 2006. It is our hope that this will provide you with a more comfortable waiting area and more comprehensive assistance.
