About The Learning Commons @ Perry Library


The Learning Commons @ Perry Library is a dynamic, collaborative environment jointly operated by the University Libraries, Office of Computing and Communications Services and Academic Enhancement. It creates an environment with access to campus resources, services and expertise offered by several academic departments in a single location, as well as facilitates student learning through exploration, collaboration, and discussion.

  • Presentation Room
    • Same technology as all ODU classrooms
    • Allows students to practice class presentations
    • Recording equipment available to allow for review and critique
  • Reservable Collaboration Rooms
    • 6 rooms with 4-5 seats
    • 1 room with 8-10 seats
    • Each room has a flat panel TV, laptop hookup and a computer
  • 6 high-end Windows-based media computers
  • 6 dual monitor GIS workstations with Google Earth
  • Multimedia room

    • Sound booth
      • 1 PC and 1 Mac

  • Math and Science Resource Center
    • Tutoring for 100 level math courses and 100-200 level chemistry courses
  • Writing Tutorial Services
    • Assists undergraduate and graduate students in all discplines to prepare them for the challenges of composing essay assignments, test preparation, seminar papers, theses, dissertations and application materials.
