Alumna's "Heart of a Nation" Celebrates New Presidency
Artist Patti Meyers, a 1969 graduate of Old Dominion University, said she created her "Heart of a Nation" poster last year after being inspired by then Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama's messages of hope, change and unity.
Meyers, who studied under Charles Sibley while pursuing her ODU bachelor's degree in art education, founded the art department in 1995 at the Archer School for Girls in Brentwood, Calif., where she continues to teach.
She had a one-woman show of her work at Norfolk's London Square Gallery in December.
