Algal Biodiesel Project Leaders Are Invited to Sea
Patrick Hatcher, the ODU faculty member who is executive director of the Virginia Coastal Energy Research Consortium, and Jes Sprouse, the entrepreneur who is working with Hatcher to develop Algal Farms Inc. in Prince George County, prepare to leave the Navy's Norfolk Air Station on a C-2 Greyhound COD to visit the aircraft carrier Dwight D. Eisenhour in the North Atlantic. The men's visit to the "Ike" Oct. 4-5 was at the invitation of Rear Adm. David Anderson of the Fleet Forces Command and came as a result of the Navy's interest in ODU's algae-to-biodiesel experimental project.
