Time Changed Tuesday for CCPO Lecture on Black Sea
Old Dominion University's Center for Coastal Physical Oceanography will present a lecture on Black Sea ecology by Baris Salihoglu of the Institute of Marine Sciences at the Middle East Technical University in Turkey at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 18, in Room 3200 of the Innovation Research Park @ODU building.
The special lecture in CCPO Fall Seminar Series was initially scheduled to begin at 12:30 p.m., but the time has been changed.
Salihoglu will discuss his research of the processes that resulted in a collapse of the anchovy fisher y in the Black Sea. This sea is an interesting case study of how human- and climate-produced effects can combine to shift a marine system from one state to another. Salihoglu received his Ph.D. from ODU.
