OFFICE OF RESEARCH ISSUES CALL FOR POSTERS FOR 2007 RESEARCH EXPO
The ODU Office of Research has issued a "call for posters" for the 2007 Research Exposition in April. The Web page dedicated to the event is: http://www.odu.edu/ao/research/services/research%20expo%202007.htm
Mohammad Karim, ODU vice president for research, issued the following statement regarding the invitation to submit research posters:
I am pleased to announce that the Office of Research is sponsoring the 2007 Annual Research Exposition which will be held during the first week of April.
This year, ODU is partnering with Eastern Virginia Medical School, Norfolk State University and the Virginia Tidewater Consortium for Higher Education in order to increase the breadth of research and networks among Virginia's institutions.
I would like to formally launch the "call for posters." As you probably know, we had an incredible turnout in 2006. Approximately 400 posters and demonstrations were displayed at the Ted Constant Convocation Center. Faculty, graduate students and undergraduates are invited to submit registrations for poster presentations.
The two stipulations for presenting your work is that (1) all posters cannot be more than 4x4 feet and (2) all posters must be new with respect to what was presented in the past three years. Also, space will be limited and it will be critical for you to register your poster before 5 p.m. on Monday, Jan. 15.
All poster registrations must be submitted electronically via an online form. No e-mail or hard-copy registrations will be accepted. The online form will be taken down at 5 p.m. on Jan. 15. Links to the registration form can be found at www.odu.edu/research; click on the link for the 2007 Research Exposition. This notice will also be e-mailed to the departments for dissemination to faculty. For questions about registration, please contact Marcie Gerdin, operations manager for the Virginia Applied Technology and Professional Development Center, at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Please refer to our Web site for more details as the plans develop, and for breaking news about the 2007 Research Exposition!
