Kevin Burke Is Landmark Executive-in-Residence Series Speaker at ODU Sept. 17

Kevin Burke, the managing partner of Trinity Capital Investment Banking Firm, will be the guest lecturer for the Landmark Executive-in-Residence Speaker Series at Old Dominion University on Thursday, Sept. 17.

The series is sponsored by Landmark Communications and ODU's College of Business and Public Administration. Burke's talk will begin at 12:30 p.m. in 1005 Constant Hall. The program is free and open to university students, faculty and staff, and to the public as space permits.

Burke, who received a Bachelor's degree in Economics from Old Dominion, began his career as an investment banker in New York and later became the Director and Regional Manager for Prudential Securities.

Prior to founding Trinity Capital, he was executive vice president of Franchise Mortgage Acceptance Company, responsible for capital markets and administration. He was instrumental in developing and broadening the $15 billion franchise loan securitization market.

He currently sits on the boards of several not-for-profit, public service and corporate entities.

The Landmark Executive-in-Residence speaker series is designed to enrich students' entrepreneurial spirit, their awareness of the success that can be built on their academic experience and their understanding of the importance of leading with integrity.

The series is dedicated to bringing accomplished business leaders, authors and internationally known speakers to campus to share their history and vision, giving students the opportunity to learn firsthand the strategies and experiences that forge great ethical global leaders.

Established in 2001, the series is funded by an endowment from a group of former Landmark Communications executives in honor of Frank Batten Sr., Landmark's founder and the first rector of the ODU Board of Visitors.
