Cambridge American Stage Tour to Perform at ODU Today
The Cambridge American Stage Tour, a group of 16 of the most talented directors, producers, actors and technicians from the University of Cambridge, travels each year to the United States to perform at universities and professional theatres. This year marks the group's 10th anniversary, as well as the 800-year anniversary of the University of Cambridge.
Today the tour will make its first appearance at Old Dominion University, adding ODU to a list of previous hosts that includes Harvard, Yale, MIT and others. Friday's performance will be the only appearance in Hampton Roads.
Under the direction of Tom Attenborough, the troupe will perform Shakespeare's "Two Gentlemen of Verona," a play about a deeply intimate friendship, falling in love for the first time, life-changing choices and learning from one's mistakes.
Performances begin at 10 a.m. and 8 p.m. in the University Theatre, located on Hampton Boulevard between 46th and 47th streets.
Tickets, $10 for students and $15 for general admission, may be purchased in advance at the Arts and Letters box office, located in the University Theatre lobby, or by calling 683-5305. The box office is open 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday through Friday. Tickets also are available at the door one hour before each performance.
Free parking is available in the 45th Street garage. Metered street parking is also available.
