CBFA HOLDS KWANZAA CELEBRATION TODAY IN WEBB CENTER
The Old Dominion University Coalition of Black Faculty and Administrators will hold its annual Kwanzaa observance in the Hampton/Newport News room of Webb Center at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 8.
The event will celebrate the seven principles of Kwanzaa and feature performances by the Ebony Impact Choir and the Black Student Association. Admission is $15 for non-members, $10 for members and $5 for students.
An African American holiday that celebrates family, community and culture, Kwanzaa is the fastest growing holiday in the nation. An estimated 18 million African descendants celebrate Kwanzaa each year around the world, including celebrants in the U.S., Africa, the Caribbean, South America, Canada, India and Britain.
