Sheri Reynolds, associate professor of English at Old Dominion University, will be a guest on the radio program "With Good Reason" Thursday, Dec. 15.

A showcase for the research and expertise of faculty at Virginia's higher education institutions, "With Good Reason" can he heard in Hampton Roads on WHRV-FM (89.5) at 11:30 a.m. It can be heard live on the Web at www.whro.com.

Reynolds, recipient of a 2005 Outstanding Faculty Award from the State Council of Higher Education (SCHEV), has taught at Old Dominion since 1997 and is a favorite among English literature and creative writing students. She is the author of three novels: "Bitterroot Landing" (1995), "The Rapture of Canaan" (1997) and "A Gracious Plenty" (1997).

"The Rapture of Canaan" reached No. 1 on the bestseller lists of both The New York Times and USA Today, and was an Oprah Book Club selection.

The episode, titled "The Pleasures of Reading," will feature Reynolds and Patrick Tompkins of John Tyler Community College as they discuss their favorite books and writers.
