Management's Anil Nair Next Speaker for 'Provost's Conversations on Teaching and Learning' Series
Anil Nair, associate professor of management in the College of Business and Public Administration, will be the next Old Dominion University faculty member to speak as part of the Provost's Conversations on Teaching and Learning series.
Hosted by Provost Carol Simpson and the Center for Learning Technologies, the series features many of ODU's award-winning faculty members. Nair's presentation, "Fostering Deep Learning," will be from 12:30-1:30 p.m. Tuesday, March 2, in the Chesapeake/Portsmouth Room of Webb Center. All faculty members are invited to attend.
Nair's current research interests are industry structure and competitive strategy, risks and biases in decision making, innovation and emerging markets.
He has published more than 20 articles, book chapters, reviews and case studies in some of the leading journals in management, and serves as senior editor of Asia Pacific Journal of Management.
He has presented his research locally to the World Affairs Council, ODU's Institute of Asian Studies and at an Inside Business conference.
Nair was the winner of the College of Business and Public Administration awards for research in 2002-03, service in 2005-06 and teaching in 2008-09.
"Conversations on Teaching and Learning" is designed to provide faculty members from across the campus with the opportunity to share, think and reflect on a wide range of teaching and learning issues, according to Simpson.
