DEL. SEARS VISITS OLD DOMINION CLASS TUESDAY
Virginia Del. Winsome Sears of Norfolk, the first African-American female Republican to serve in the Virginia General Assembly, will be a guest Tuesday in Elizabeth Esinhart's "Women in Politics" class at Old Dominion University.
Sears, an Old Dominion graduate, will relate her experiences as a woman holding elected office during the class.
Sears, running for public office for the first time in 2001, defeated 20-year incumbant William P. Robinson Jr. for the 90th District seat. Sears received her bachelor's degree in English in 1992.
