Adam Nature Photographs in Maryland Show
John Adam, University professor of mathematics at Old Dominion University and a nature photographer, will have five photographs exhibited in a show associated with the international Light and Color in the Open Air conference being hosted by St. Mary's College in St. Mary's City, Md.
The show, "The Atmosphere Exposed: Photographs of Halos, Mirages, Iridescent Clouds & More!" will open on June 12 in conjunction with the conference, and continue until Sept. 30. For more information, call 240-895-4246.
Adam's photographs accepted for display are titled "Constable Sky," "Yellowstone Spraybow," "Sunrise," "Light Saber" and "Reflections in a Lupin Leaf."
Photographs taken by the ODU professor have illustrated his books about patterns in nature. He is the author of "A Mathematical Nature Walk" (2009) and "Mathematics in Nature: Modeling Patterns in the Natural World" (2003), both from Princeton University Press.
