TONIGHT'S LIBRARY FALL FORUM TO FOCUS ON POST-CASTRO CUBA
Rene Perez-Lopez, adjunct professor of political science, will discuss "Post-Castro Cuba: Are We There Yet?" for the Friends of the Old Dominion University Library's Fall Forum Tuesday, Nov. 14.
Free and open to the public, the forum will be held at 7 p.m. in room 101 of the Mills Godwin Jr. Building.
Perez-Lopez will present an analysis of the challenges to Castro's successors, including his brother and other present leaders, which may result in a different group of leaders.
An adjunct professor at Old Dominion since 1988, Perez-Lopez formerly served as the library director at Virginia Wesleyan College and branch manager for the Norfolk Public Library. In addition to teaching, he works as an interpreter and translator.
He received a bachelor's degree in Inter-American Studies from the State University of New York at Albany, a master's degree in political science from Case Western Reserve University and a master's degree in library science from the State University of New York at Albany.
