Old Dominion University Professor of Dental Hygiene Lynn Tolle is this year's winner of the American Dental Hygienists' Association (ADHA)/Procter & Gamble Dental Hygiene Educator of the Year Award.
Tolle received the award, which recognizes excellence in teaching, mentoring and devotion to student achievement, during an awards presentation at ADHA's 87th Annual Session in Las Vegas in June.
She has been a member of ADHA since 1976, has held various offices in her local ADHA chapter and served on several state committees.
Tolle, who has taught at ODU since 1983, earned bachelor's and master's degrees in dental hygiene from the University of Kentucky. She is currently the director of clinical affairs for ODU's School of Dental Hygiene.
The ADHA is the largest national organization representing the professional interests of more than 150,000 dental hygienists across the country.
