Ronald Bailey, author of "ECOSCAM: The False Prophets of Ecological Apocolypse," will be the guest speaker for the New Portal to Appreciating Our Global Environment -- NewPAGE -- class Tuesday, Nov. 22.

The class is held from 9:30-11 a.m. in the Ted Constant Convocation Center.

Bailey is science correspondent for "Reason," a monthly magazine on politics and culture with a national circulation of about 60,000. He edited "Earth Report 2000: Revisiting The True State of The Planet" and "The True State of the Planet."

In addition to producing several series and documentaries for PBS television and ABC News, his articles and reviews have appeared in the Wall Street Journal, Washington Post, New York Times Book Review, The Public Interest, Smithsonian magazine, National Review, Forbes, The Washington Times, Newsday and Readers Digest.

The 1993 Warren T. Brookes Fellow in Environmental Journalism at the Competitive Enterprise Institute, Bailey has lectured at Harvard University, Rutgers University, McGill University, University of Alaska, Universite de Quebec, Cato Institute, Instituto de Libertad y Desarrollo in Chile and the American Enterprise Institute.

He is a member of the Society of Environmental Journalists.
