Sport Management Students to Host Charity Golf Classic Oct. 25
Students from the sport management undergraduate event management class in Old Dominion University's Darden College of Education will host a charity golf classic Monday, Oct. 25, with proceeds to benefit Young Audiences - Arts for Learning - Virginia.
The 18-hole, four-player scramble at Greenbrier Country Club in Chesapeake will begin with a shotgun start at 1 p.m. Entry is $125 per player, or $500 per foursome.
Every participant will receive 18 holes of golf with a cart, lunch and a gourmet dinner, snacks on the course, two premium gifts, entry in a putting contest, a raffle ticket, and more. The tournament also features a hole-in-one contest, with a chance to win a car.
ODU's sport management students are hosting the event to gain hands-on experience and in the process develop knowledge and professional practice from planning and running a special sports event.
Sponsorship opportunities for the event include corporate hole sponsorships, cart sponsorships and putting green, chipping area and driving range sponsorships.
For more information about the tournament, including participation or sponsorship opportunities, call Gary Bernstein, Lecturer in ODU's sport management department, at 757-683-5338.
