Faculty, Wives & Friends Organization Invites Prospective Members to Join
Old Dominion University's Faculty, Wives & Friends welcomes new female faculty members to the campus and invites them to join the group.
Founded by the first first lady of ODU, Virginia Rice Webb, the women's organization was created for the purpose of fellowship and supporting a scholarship for a returning woman student. There are many special-interest groups and activities within the organization, such as book clubs, "chick flick" outings, monthly luncheons, bridge, mahjong and others. Dues are $20 annually.
"We are also delighted to welcome faculty spouses and friends to our group and would appreciate their expression of interest," said membership chair Ann Bohannon.
ODU President John R. Broderick will host a reception at the president's house for members and prospective members of the organization from 4:30-6 p.m. Nov. 2. For more information about Faculty, Wives & Friends, and to be included on the guest list for the reception, contact Bohannon at 426-0237 or firstname.lastname@example.org by Monday, Oct. 4.
