FRIDAY IS DEADLINE TO REGISTER FOR 2006 RESEARCH EXPOSITION
Faculty and students who want to present posters or demonstrations at the 2006 Research Exposition April 5 at the Ted Constant Convocation Center must submit registration/application forms by Friday, Dec. 16.
Eastern Virginia Medical School will join Old Dominion and Norfolk State universities in the 2006 exposition, according to Mohammad A. Karim, ODU vice president for research, who issued the call for posters and demonstrations. He said entries are solicited from researchers in all departments of the three institutions.
Karim announced that Peter Doherty, a 1996 winner of the Nobel Prize in medicine, will deliver the exposition's keynote address. Doherty is a researcher and administrator in the Department of Immunology at St. Jude Children's Research Hospital in Memphis.
In addition to the keynote address, exhibits and demonstrations, there will be artistic displays and performances and panel discussions about research being conducted at the three institutions. Awards will be given for the best undergraduate and graduate student posters.
