President of Leading Manufacturing Firm Is Landmark Executive-in-Residence Speaker Oct. 19

Lena Hogue, president of Liebherr-America Inc., will be the guest lecturer for the Landmark Executive-in-Residence Speaker Series at Old Dominion University on Tuesday, Oct. 19.

Liebherr-America Inc. is a member of the privately held worldwide Liebherr Group of companies, one of the world's leading manufacturers of construction machinery/cranes and domestic appliances.

The speaker series is sponsored by Landmark Communications and ODU's College of Business and Public Administration. Hogue's talk will begin at 12:30 p.m. in 1005 Constant Hall. The program is free and open to university students, faculty and staff, and to the public as space permits.

Hogue, who received a bachelor's degree in business administration from ODU, oversees Liebherr Group's sales, service, finance and administration, human resources, logistics and information technology operations in the United States. She also coordinates with 10 operating divisions in the U.S. and overseas.

Prior to joining Liebherr-America, Hogue was the assistant chief financial officer for the city of Portsmouth. She began her professional career in the Norfolk office of KPMG LLP, a public accounting firm.

The Landmark Executive-in-Residence Speaker Series is designed to enrich students' entrepreneurial spirit, their awareness of the success that can be built on academic experience and their understanding of the importance of leading with integrity.

The series is dedicated to bringing accomplished business leaders, authors and internationally known speakers to campus to share their history and vision, giving students the opportunity to learn firsthand the strategies and experiences that forge great ethical global leaders.

Established in 2001, the series is funded by an endowment from a group of former Landmark Communications executives in honor of Frank Batten Sr., Landmark's founder and the first rector of the ODU Board of Visitors.
