ODU Wind Ensemble to Perform Nov. 3
The Old Dominion University Wind Ensemble, under the direction of Professor Dennis Ziesler, will perform Tuesday, Nov. 3 at 7:30 p.m. at the University Theatre. The event is free and open to the public.
During the performance, 55 undergraduate and graduate students will perform a variety of works by Bach, Grainger, Smith, Kozvenikov and Sousa. Zeisler, who has worked at ODU for more than two decades, has served as director of bands, professor of clarinet and saxophone and chairman of the music department. Under his direction, ODU Wind Ensemble has developed into a premiere performing ensemble and has received critical acclaim for performances of works by Colgrass, Ring, Sochinski, Camphouse, Hailstork, Smith and Erickson. The group has also recorded for TRN Music Publishers and Frank Erickson Publications.
The University Theatre is located on Hampton Boulevard between 46th and 47th streets. Free parking is available in the 45th Street garage. Metered street parking is also available. For more information, call 683-4061.
