ODU Inclement Weather Update
The National Weather Service is forecasting light snow in the region beginning around 9 a.m. and mixed snow/rain in the late afternoon on Thursday, Dec. 16. Snow accumulation is expected to be less than an inch.
Because the university is in the middle of exam week and commencement is scheduled for Saturday, Old Dominion will open as planned tomorrow. However, officials will be closely monitoring the weather over night and through the day tomorrow. Should conditions deteriorate and closing becomes necessary, then all exams affected by the closing will be rescheduled for Monday, Dec. 20.
Exams are currently scheduled for:
8:30 - 11:30 a.m.
12:30 - 3:30 p.m.
3:45 - 6:45 p.m.
7 - 10 p.m.
Any decision to close will be mindful and accommodating of these timeframes to the extent possible.
Announcements about delays or closings will be made via campus e-mail, web site and the ODU Alerts system. Students, faculty and staff can sign up for the ODU Alerts system at www.odu.edu/alerts using their Midas ID and password.
