ODU to Close at 3:30 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 16
Old Dominion University will close at 3:30 p.m. today following the afternoon block of exams. Exams scheduled for 3:45 through 10 p.m. tonight will be moved to the same time on Monday, Dec. 20.
No students should endanger themselves trying to get to an exam if conditions for them are unsafe. In such instances, the provost has asked faculty to find alternative options and students should contact their professors to explore such options. Additionally, students whose semester break travel arrangements preclude them from returning on Monday should contact their professors to inquire about alternative arrangements.
Residence halls will remain open to accommodate the new schedule. Further information will follow about specific times for residence halls and schedules for dining and auxiliary services.
No decision has yet been made about Friday morning exams. However, officials will monitor road conditions and make a decision as early as possible.
Monitor the ODU web site and email and/or sign up for ODU Alerts at www.odu.edu/alerts to receive the latest updates.
Supervisors have the discretion to grant liberal leave today to employees, provided departments are covered until 3:30 p.m. For any questions or clarifications on the liberal leave policy, please contact Human Resources at 683-3042.
