BROOKINGS FELLOW ROBERT PUENTES TO SPEAK WEDNESDAY FOR ECON CLUB
Robert Puentes, a fellow with The Brookings Institution Metropolitan Policy Program, will address the Economics Club of Hampton Roads Wednesday, Oct. 31.
Co-sponsored by Old Dominion University's College of Business and Public Administration and The Norfolk Foundation, the luncheon begins at noon at the Norfolk Marriott Waterside Hotel. The cost is $30 for non-members. Due to limited space, reservations are required and may be made by calling 683-4058.
The Brookings Institution Metropolitan Policy Program produces research that helps advance public understanding and policy reforms in the areas of metropolitan growth, central city competitiveness, neighborhood poverty, and community and family wealth creation. Puentes' interests include transportation and infrastructure reform, policy options for older suburban America, reframing the challenges of affordable housing, the impact of various land use strategies on metropolitan growth, and documenting the consequences of metropolitan sprawl and disinvestment.
The Economics Club of Hampton Roads is an organization for business and government executives and community leaders who share an interest in the practical implications of economic principles, trends and events. It was established in 1991 as a community service by ODU, and is administered by the dean of the College of Business and Public Administration, Nancy A. Bagranoff.
