Monarchs Claim Title of Kings of the CAA Jungle for Second Year in a Row

Frank Hassell scored 22 points and grabbed nine rebounds, and Old Dominion withstood a furious second-half rally by Virginia Commonwealth on Monday night to defend its Colonial Athletic Association tournament title with a 70-65 victory.

The win marked ODU's sixth overall CAA tournament crown, two more than any other school in the league, and the Monarchs became the first back-to-back champions since UNC Wilmington achieved the feat in 2002 and 2003.
