Donald J. Hurzeler, the national president of the Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter (CPCU) Society, will be the guest speaker at the annual Founders' Day luncheon for the Old Dominion University Insurance and Financial Services Center Wednesday, Nov. 2.

The luncheon will be held at noon in the Hampton/Newport News Room in Webb University Center. The cost is $20 and registration is required by calling 683-3585 or e-mailing brubin@odu.edu. Free parking is available in Lot 27 on Elkhorn Avenue near 49th Street.

Hurzeler is an executive with Zurich North America. Prior to joining Zurich, he was first vice president for Reliance National Insurance in New York and, before that, spent the first 27 years of his career with Allstate Insurance in its commercial company, Northbrook Property and Casualty.

Hurzeler is a member of the CPCU Society's Chicago-Northwest Suburban Chapter, and has served as the Society's 2002-2003 vice president and 2003-2004 president-elect.

He has been a columnist for Best's Review and the Barrington Courier-Review newspaper and is a past member of the board of directors for The American Nuclear Insurers.
