Hsiung Honored as Research Mentor
Steve C. Hsiung, associate professor of engineering technology, received both the Faculty Research Mentor Award and the Provost's Award for Outstanding Undergraduate Research Faculty Mentor at the Faculty Awards and Retirement Dinner on May 3.
He joined the Department of Electrical Engineering Technology in the Frank Batten College of Engineering and Technology in 2003. Since then, Hsiung has taught the Senior Project Design research course in his department. He has mentored 10 undergraduate senior projects. These projects have led to six journal and proceedings publications.
Hsiung, who teaches courses on linear electronics and operational amplifiers, has also provided funding for undergraduate researchers through his external grant from NASA's Virginia Space Grant Consortium.
