LAWES TO LECTURE AT MASS. HISTORICAL SITE
Carolyn J. Lawes, associate professor of history at Old Dominion University, will be a guest at a Civil War seminar, "Reform, Rally and Restore," sponsored by the Boylston Historical Society and Museum in Massachusetts Oct. 16-19.
Lawes will lecture about temperance during the Civil War years at 7:30 p.m. Oct. 16 at the Historical Society.
The event also will include a grathering of temperance advocates and soldiers, a Civil War encampment, a lecture about John B. Gough and a candlelight tour of the campsite.
