ODU Grad Timothy Toll, a VP with Campbell Soup, to Give Executive-in-Residence Address
Timothy J. Toll, vice president of global customer development for the Campbell Soup Co. and an Old Dominion University graduate, will give the next Landmark Executive-in-Residence address to students in ODU's College of Business and Public Administration (CBPA).
The address will be held from 12:30-1:20 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 26, in Room 1005 of Constant Hall. Pizza and beverages will be provided, sponsored by the CBPA.
Toll received a bachelor's degree in business management from ODU in 1983 and played baseball for the Monarchs. He was appointed in July 2011 to his current position with Campbell Soup, where he oversees development of the company's sales strategies to support the international division and its customers.
The appointment followed almost 10 years as the company's president of its global Walmart division. Walmart is Campbell's largest global customer, and in Toll's decade as president, the soup company tripled its global sales to the retail giant, to $1.8 billion per year.
Prior to working for Campbell, Toll worked for H.J. Heinz, and spent 16 years with Procter & Gamble. After graduating from ODU, he played professional baseball in the Chicago Cubs organization.
Toll currently serves on the board of directors of Students in Free Enterprise and the advisory board for the University of Arkansas' China Executive Management program. He lives in Glen Mills, Pa.
The Landmark Executive-in-Residence speaker series is designed to enrich students' entrepreneurial spirit, their awareness of the success that can be built on their academic experience and their understanding of the importance of leading with integrity.
The program is dedicated to bringing accomplished business leaders, many of whom are ODU alumni, to campus to share their history and vision, giving students the opportunity to learn firsthand the strategies and experiences that forge great ethical global leaders.
Established in 2001, the Landmark Executive-in-Residence program is funded by an endowment from a group of former Landmark Communications executives in honor of the late Frank Batten Sr., who served as chair of the executive committee of the Landmark board and was the first rector of the ODU Board of Visitors.
