LT. GOVERNOR CANDIDATES DEBATE AT CONSTANT CENTER TONIGHT
In an attempt to convince local voters they are the best choice on election day, candidates hoping to be Virginia's next lieutenant governor will square off in a debate at 5 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 19 at Old Dominion University's Ted Constant Convocation Center.
Sponsored by the Virginia Bar Association, the debate is free and open to the public. Free parking is available in the Constant Center Parking Garage.
Republican state Sen. Bill Bolling (Hanover), and former U.S. representative Leslie L. Byrne, a Fairfax Democrat, will answer questions from a panel moderated by Irvin Hill, former Norfolk mayor and host of Cox Cable's "Hampton Roads Speaks Out," during the 90-minute debate. Panelists include G. William Whitehurst, the Kaufman Lecturer in Public Affairs at ODU and former U.S. Congressman, Cathy Lewis, host of WHRV's "HearSay," and Paul Fletcher, publisher and editor-in-chief of Virginia Lawyers Weekly.
